Well today the woodbine website project was due. Anyways we learned some new features about Macromedia. They are:

  • Mr. Case also taught us how we could put frames in our websites. This can be done by clicking on the "Frame" section that is in your toolbar.
  • Sometimes when you select an image as your background, it's resolution may not be adjusted since its different computers. However this problem can be solved by creating a table throughout your entire page and inserting your background into one of those boxes.
Anyways that's all for today

HTML Stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. It is the basic code for writing web pages.
HTTP stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol. By creating certain texts you can post many things such as, headings, different fonts, images, and many more things when creating a webpage.
The site: “http://www.webmonkey.com/reference/html_cheatsheet/index.html” is very useful beacuse it shows you lots of HTML codes you would need to use inorder to make different stuff on your webpage such as header tags, text tags, links, formatting, etc.

Back in the old days when people wanted to make web pages, they first had to write the HTML codes in a notepad, then change that to a HTML extension and have it turned into a webpage. Now we have programs that can do all the HTML processes for us. Programs that work like HTML editors; programs such as Dreamweaver. In Dreamweaver there are two sections. One of the sections you can just type whatever you want with whatever color, size, font, etc and the program will translate that into the proper HTML code needed. This program is an excellent tool because it shows you both what you have typed and the HTML code needed, so that you can make changes anywhere you want. (Whether you want to change it using the stuff you typed or the HTML code that the program made based on the information you gave it.) However, even though this is an excellent tool…nothing ever came for free because this program costs 400 dollars!!!!

Now since most of you wouldn’t probably spend that kind of money on something like this, there are other free but simpler HTML editor programs such as, Pagebreeze and Netscape Composer. However if you really want to try Dreamwaver, you can download the 30 day trial version from: http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/Even though we have so many great programs, till this day there are still some people who prefer to do it the old fashioned way and write out all the HTML code in a notepad, change the extension to a HTML and turn that into a webpage. They refuse to use modern programs that are great tools.

Pagebreeze found at: http://www.pagebreeze.com/
Netscape Composer found at: http://browser.netscape.com/ns8/
